INTERREG Projects

Sussex-air has participated in three inter regional European funded (INTERREG ) air quality projects covering the Trans-Manche region , over the last 10 years.

Sussex-air with Environmental Protection UK are now investigating a project to look at the impacts on PM in our region, looking at the health, transport corridors and influencing and informing change. We will particulalyr focus on impacts, risks and communication of risks. Previous Interreg projects include:

1. Air Rives-Manche Sensibilisation, which increased monitoring of ozone and PM10 (both important transboundary pollutants) and sought to raise awareness of air quality and actions that can be taken to reduce individual contributions to air pollution.

2. Air Rives-Manche Santé, which correlated respiratory disease and mortality rates with air pollutant levels.

3. Air Rives Manche Ozone (ARMO), which looked at the health and ecological impacts of ground level ozone in the regions.
