The partnership has been established to enable sharing of experience and information between partners. SAQSG will partner NSCA, Atmo Picardie and Air Normand in the project and to achieve the project objectives SAQSG will undertake a number of actions.

Enhance the Sussex, Normandy and Picardie monitoring networks to provide a wider distribution of O3 monitoring data inland. |

Enhance real time “pollution incident bulletins” to Health authorities and sensitive populations. The forecasts would allow strategic planning for health authorities, so those incidences of increased respiratory complaints could be better managed. |

Assess needs and identify the most vulnerable populations and target those groups with the most current information. |

Study French methods of forecasting and run pilot scheme in two PCT (Public Care Trust) areas to assess effectiveness of forecasting.

Measure pollutant exposures to sensitive populations such as school children, asthma sufferers, the elderly and other respiratory sensitive people. SASQSG will undertake studies on behalf of partnership and build on Interreg II research.
