The 2011 Sussex-air seminar was held at the Gatwick Hilton on 11th March 2011.
The seminar included a key note speech from Norman Baker MP (DfT Transport Minister) on local sustainable transport and the impacts of transport on air quality.
The talks included local and national perspectives on the challenges of reducing carbon and
air pollutants through sustainable transport initiatives, low emission planning strategies and
the importance of partnership working between local authorities, transport authorities and government.
DEFRA held a workshop to further discuss "new developing approaches to improving air quality in the UK" :
- Tools and resources needed for better air quality
- Engaging decision makers
- Evaluating the effectiveness of air quality measures
